Pool Specialists provides swimming pool management, service, maintenance, and repair for residential and commercial swimming pools in the extended area of Raleigh-Durham (Triangle), North Carolina. Pool Specialists was founded in 2003 initially to provide commercial pool service and lifeguards. By 2007, Pool Specialists was providing over 300 lifeguards and servicing over 100 commercial pools. As the eceonomy started to change in 2006, Pool Specialists refocused to residential pools. Today, Pool Specialists services over 300 weekly residential pools and is the primary warranty repair center for Pentair and Zodiac/Jandy/Polaris. All Pool Specialists technicians are "Certified Pool Operators" (CPOs) with their accreditation from the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) and are "Certified Service Technicians" with their accreditation from the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals
(APSP). The NSPF and the APSP are the 2 major professional organizations in the swimming pool industry that offer training and certification to promote technical standards and professionalism. Pool Specialists service technicians also attend yearly classes and are certified by Pentair and Zodiac. Pool Specialists maintains an A+ Accreditation with the Better Business Bureau.
Craig W Wooster is the President and Owner of Pool Specialists. Craig was raised in Union, NJ and received a Masters in Computer Engineering and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). After graduating college, Craig designed flight computers for military aircraft; changed companies and designed Telecom Equipment and Custom ASICs. He was then hired by a semiconductor company to provide technical field applications support for semi-custom and custom ASICs. After a few years in applications engineering, he moved into sales and marketing where he moved up the corporate ranks until 2003, when the semiconductor industry crashed in the United States. In 2003 Craig founded Pool Specialists after being a volunteer president of the Wood Valley Swim and Racquet Club (WVSRC) for 12 years. After retiring from self-managing the swim club as a volunteer president, the club (WVSRC) hired a local Pool Management company, which turned out to be a disaster. The lifeguards, members, board of directors, and several other swim clubs convinced Craig
there was a need for a knowledgeable professional swimming pool management company in the extended Raleigh-Durham, NC area.
Craig has been a competitive swimmer since the age of 7 and worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor in his youth. His favorite interests are Swimming, Water Skiing, Snow Skiing, Biking, and Running. He has been happily married for 30 years, has 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
Judy A Bradyhouse is the Director of Finance for Pool Specialists. Judy started working for Pool Specialists in April 2005. Judy is a CPO (Certified Pool Operator), lifeguard, lifeguard instructor and water aerobics instructor. Prior to working for Pool Specialists, Judy worked at the YMCA. During her tenor at Pool Specialists, Judy has worked as a CPO, lifeguard, pool manager and director of lifeguard & CPO services.
Judy is married and has 3 children, 2 sons and a daughter, all of which worked for Pool Specialists for several years during High School and College. In her spare time she enjoys gardening.
Austin Lee Bradyhouse is the Accounting Clerk at Pool Specialists. Austin was born in Nashville, TN, but raised in Raleigh, NC. Austin received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. He started working for Pool Specialists as a lifeguard in May of 2004. He worked his way up to become a Certified Pool Operator at Pool Specialists in 2006 and worked as a CPO for three years. In 2009, Austin wrote a business plan for an Austrian startup which won second place in an Austrian business plan competition. Austin also consulted for XI Group in 2010 to help build the company's consumer base. After graduating college, Pool Specialists rehired Austin as an Accounting Clerk in September of 2011.
Austin was an exceptional student-athlete at the University of North Carolina where he was a member of the swimming and diving team. He regularly participated in a volunteer program called Carolina
Dreams where he spent the day with children at the UNC Children's Hospital. Austin enjoys reading, springboard diving, and college basketball.
Matt Johnson is the IT technician at Pool Specialists. Matt was born in Raleigh, NC and currently attends UNC Charlotte, where he is pursuing a bachelor in computer and electrical engineering. He started working for Pool Specialists in 2007 as the web designer. Matt received his Eagle Scout award in October of 2007. Some of his interests are camping, biking, and tennis.
Wendy Peterson is an administrative assistant at Pool Specialists. She handles all data input in addition to customer concerns and office communications. Please know that your questions and concerns will be handled expeditiously. Wendy started in the pool industry in 2008.
Peter W Hamil is the Service Manager for Pool Specialists. Peter was born and raised in New Jersey, where he worked for a local swimming pool service company. Peter moved to North Carolina in December 2006 and started working at Pool Specialists in January 2007. Peter dedicates all his time to his son and daughter and is very involved with their schooling, sports and activities. On weekends you will always find Pete with his children on a soccer field or some other activity.
